I’m so glad you asked! I think we all know that the food we eat matters, but there are various ways ‘stuff’ gets into our bodies other than from eating. It is the air we breathe, the lotions and potions we put on our skin, and can even be our thoughts and mindset. All these environmental factors impact our bodies, and can either help or hinder our health. I love the term ‘low tox living’ to give context to this often overlooked aspect in our health journey. The more we can lower our exposure to disrupting ‘toxins’ the better chance our bodies have at healing.
Did you know there are over 100,000 chemicals registered for use globally. Not all of these chemicals are harmful – in fact, many make our lives better. But some are harming us and our planet. Even the tiny doses we are exposed to in our food supply, in the products we use in our homes, and in the products we use on our bodies can have huge impacts. We can’t totally eliminate all exposure, but we can ‘where possible’ reduce our exposure to harmful and potentially harmful chemicals.
