What does the hair analysis test for?
Our standard Australian test covers a list of over 500 standard items including items from all food groups, as well as bathroom, laundry and kitchen products. Each item is tested in the form it is usually consumed, e.g. raw or cooked where applicable.
In addition to the standard test, there is also an Australian baby test, a pet test, an ethnic (Indian) foods test, and an optional add-on for specialty foods from ALDI, Woolworths and Coles.
How does the bio-compatibility test work?
The test is based on the way in which the foods and products affect the flow of energy through the body. If the energy systems within the body are compromised, the cells cannot function optimally. This can initially lead to an immune response, followed by inflammation and eventually reactive symptoms.
By testing the hair sample, Bio-compatibility testing identifies the way in which various food and household products impact optimal cellular function.
The premise of the test is that when the body is fed correctly with foods that are compatible, the immune system is freed up to deal with any problems that may arise more effectively and efficiently, thereby improving symptom expression.
This test has come about as a result of over 30 years of research and development by qualified Naturopaths here in Australia. This test is now utilised in over 20 countries.
How much hair is needed?
Approximately ½ teaspoon of hair from the head, arms or legs. Saliva is a suitable alternative for babies and others without hair. Please note that dyed hair is no issue with the bio-compatibility test.
How is this test different from a skin prick or blood test for allergies?
The skin prick and blood tests look for allergic responses. The bio-compatibility test is not looking at allergies, but rather it is looking at responses to foods and household products that impact cellular function. This test is about compatibility rather than allergies.
What will the Bio-compatibility test report include?
Once your hair sample is analysed, you will receive a 16-page comprehensive report that will be used to formulate a 6-month treatment plan. You will receive 4-weekly progress forms to assess improvements along with support on how to implement any dietary changes required.
